John Rhodes Skatepark

Visit the John Rhodes Skatepark to learn some new tricks or to watch some real skaters show off their style. Superior Community Skatepark Association along with #activeSault hosts many free skate clinics during the summer months. Contact us to sign up!

Esposito Park Pumptrack

The Esposito Park Pumptrack is a place where the whole family can use their wheels and pumping action to move around the asphalt looped track.

Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Disc Golf Course

The Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Disc Golf Course was constructed in the spring of 2017 and is enjoyed by many in and around the Sault. Located in Penthorwood Park, the course is free to access by all during the day. Sault Disc Golf Association (SDGA) hosts Open League Nights every Thursday night with a tee off time at 7PM. For more information about the leagues you can contact the SDGA.

Adults 55+ Fitness

Adults 55+ Fitness has started following a grant from the Ontario Government in June of 2017. This grant has allowed for #activeSault to offer more sports, fitness and wellness programs for adults ages 55 and older. Many of these programs can be free or of a lower costs to help fit your budget and educate you on great ways to stay fit and have fun in your community. Create an account with our Active Network to keep you up to date with the latest classes as you can sign up for a class or program from anywhere you have access to the internet. Seniors programming occurs at the Seniors Drop-In Centre on Bay Street or in the west end of city at the Northern Community Centre on Goulais Avenue. Many new 55+ programs are being offered at the Northern Community Centre to bring our community accessibility and affordable activities for all those over the age of 55. If you would like to know more about many of the programs that are going on at either location view Northern Community Centre 55+ or the Drop-In Centre and their Active is Attractive schedule.


A winter walking opportunity is available during the winter months at the Northern Community Centre on the indoor turf fields Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as long as there isn't an event booked. The Essar Centre offers walking throughout the whole year, Monday to Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as long as there isn't an event happening. Both are open to people of all abilities and have been made accessible for those with assisted devices. To make sure there isn’t an event going on please check the online schedule.

Outdoor Fitness Centre

Clergue Park's Outdoor Fitness Centre is free to the public and can be utilized by anyone regardless of ability or fitness level. Please consult a fitness professional if you require education or if you have never exercised before. Always consult your doctor to give you the 'OK' to exercise. Prior to visiting, view the Outdoor Fitness Centre webpage for some tips, safety instructions, and workout cards. 


If you are looking for a walking or running challenge then meet every Saturday rain or shine at Bellevue Park for Bellevue parkrun. You can be one of many across the world who are walking and running each week to get healthy, meet new people or just for the health of it! parkrun is always looking for volunteers to make this initiative continue to happen.
