Community Services consists of the following divisions:
Cemeteries & Crematorium operates four cemeteries along with the only crematorium situated within Sault Ste. Marie.
The Central Administration office provides clerical support to the department and Switchboard staff coordinate the scheduling of meeting rooms and reception services for the Civic Centre.
Community Centres is responsible for the operation of the City's community centres including: John Rhodes Community Centre, W.J. McMeeken Centre, Northern Community Centre, and two outdoor swimming pools. The Accessibility office also operates under Community Centres.
Day Care operates a licensed pre-school day care program through the Jessie Irving Children's Centre.
The Essar Centre Division manages the Essar Centre, a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment centre with all of the amenities necessary to host a wide range of events including concerts, sporting events, family shows, conventions, and trade shows. The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club, part of the Ontario Hockey League, also operates out of the venue.
Recreation and Culture is responsible for community recreation and culture needs such as historic sites and museums, marinas, and seniors services. The Division also facilitates various committees appointed by City Council.
Transit provides a reliable and comfortable public transport service to Sault Ste. Marie residents and visitors.
